Middle East NOC Drilling Campaigns Drive 45% Surge in Mud Pump Parts and Solids Control Orders

BEIJING, China – CHINA KOMAL INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD reports a 45% year-on-year increase in orders for mud pump fluid end parts, shaker screens, and solids control equipment during the first half of 2026, driven by the most aggressive drilling expansion programs in a decade across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Iraq. The company's order book for mud pump consumables—including piston assemblies, cylinder liners, valve bodies and seats, and fluid end modules—reached record levels in Q2 2026, with consolidated shipments exceeding 12,000 units across all product categories.
The surge is anchored in Saudi Arabia's expeditious build-out of its natural gas production capacity under the Jafurah and South Ghawar development programs, which together represent the largest unconventional gas drilling campaign outside of North America. Aramco has steadily increased its rig count throughout 2026, with a significant portion of these rigs deployed on gas development wells requiring high-pressure mud circulation systems that run continuously. Each active drilling rig consumes fluid end components—particularly Gardner Denver PZ-11 and NOV Mission 7500 pump wear parts—at rates that have pushed CHINA KOMAL's factory capacity to the limit.

They have learned from the pandemic-era supply chain disruptions that extended lead times for critical fluid end components can jeopardize entire drilling programs, and they are no longer willing to take that risk."
Fluid End Parts Demand Across the Middle East
CHINA KOMAL's fluid end parts order book for Middle East customers grew 48% year-on-year in H1 2026, with the strongest demand concentrated in three product categories. Cylinder liners for triplex and quintuplex mud pumps accounted for the largest volume, with CHINA KOMAL shipping more than 4,500 units of induction-hardened, chrome-iron liners in diameters ranging from 5-1/2" to 8". The company's flagship 4340 alloy steel liners with dual-layer ceramic coating have become the preferred specification among Middle East operators for their extended service life in the region's high-chloride, abrasive drilling environments.
High-pressure piston assemblies and rod assemblies followed as the second-largest category, with CHINA KOMAL fulfilling frame agreements covering Gardner Denver PZ and TGE series piston configurations, as well as NOV Mission and OPI-compatible assemblies. The company's polyurethane-reinforced piston rubbers, vulcanized directly onto ductile-iron hubs per API 7K specifications, have demonstrated consistent 300+ hour service intervals in high-pressure circulation service—a performance benchmark that has driven repeat orders from three of the five largest drilling contractors operating in the GCC.
"The Middle East is the most demanding market in the world for mud pump fluid ends, and not because the wells are technically the most complex," explained CHINA KOMAL's director of manufacturing operations. "The challenge is the operating environment—ambient temperatures regularly exceeding 50°C on desert rig floors, high-solids-content drilling fluids that accelerate abrasive wear, and 24-hour continuous pumping schedules that never let the equipment cool. A fluid end component that lasts 500 hours in the Permian Basin might fail at 250 hours in Rub' al Khali. Our engineering team has optimized liner material chemistry and heat treatment specifically for these conditions, and the market has responded."
Solids Control Equipment Upgrades Accelerate
Alongside the fluid end parts surge, CHINA KOMAL has recorded a 35% increase in orders for solids control equipment and replacement shaker screens. Middle East operators—particularly those running high-RPM motored rigs for gas drilling—are upgrading their mud handling systems to accommodate finer screening requirements and higher circulating rates. CHINA KOMAL has shipped more than 8,000 replacement shaker screen panels in H1 2026, spanning Brandt (B40, D380, King Cobra), Derrick (DP-600, FLC-2000, Hyperpool), and SWACO (Mongoose, MD-3) compatible configurations.
The company's composite-frame shaker screen line, which features a 100% steel-reinforced polyurethane tensioning system and open-screen area exceeding 50% for API RP 13C compliance, has seen particularly strong uptake in Middle East operations. Field data collected across 27 customer sites in Saudi Arabia and the UAE shows that CHINA KOMAL's composite screens deliver 18% longer service life and 12% higher fluid throughput compared to equivalent-grade competitive products in Middle East formation conditions.
CHINA KOMAL has also completed turnkey solids control system upgrades for nine operated rigs in Iraq's Basrah region during H1 2026, each including a full train of desander and desilter hydrocyclone assemblies, a 14-inch horizontal decanter centrifuge for fines removal below 5 microns, and a vacuum degasser for drilled-gas handling. The company's engineering-and-procurement teams have worked closely with the rig operators to design skid-mounted systems that minimize footprint on space-constrained desert rig sites while maintaining full API 13C Class 1 solids removal efficiency.
Expanded Manufacturing Capacity at Beijing Headquarters
To sustain the unprecedented order volume and reduce extended lead times, CHINA KOMAL has completed Phase 1 of a three-phase capacity expansion program at its Beijing manufacturing base. Phase 1 added four Mazak 5-axis CNC machining centers and two induction hardening lines dedicated to cylinder liner and fluid end module production, increasing fluid end component manufacturing capacity by 40%. Phase 2, scheduled for completion in October 2026, will add two additional automated shaker screen assembly lines and a dedicated elastomer molding workshop capable of producing up to 10,000 piston rubber assemblies per month.

CHINA KOMAL projects that Middle East-driven orders will continue to grow at 30–35% year-on-year through 2027, underpinned by sustained NOC capital spending commitments and the accelerating pace of gas field development across the region. The company's Phase 2 and Phase 3 expansion programs are being sized to support an additional 50% increase in production capacity by mid-2027.
